1st Nisqually River Cleanup - April 21, 2018

This is a great float along a lowland river that has not been extensively developed.  Wildlife and birds can be seen along the river.  Most of the rapids are Class II, with several boulder gardens that make for good training such  as practicing eddy turns. The Washington Kayak Club, Washington Recreational River Runners and the Paddle Trail Canoe Club will be sponsoring the first organized cleanup of the Nisqually River from McKenna Park downstream to the boundary of the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in April.

This is the first organized clean-up of this stretch of the Nisqually River. Later in Feb. there will be a website with more information and an On-line sign up system. If there is enough interest, arrangements may be made for camping at the Riverbend Campground.

If you  have questions or wish to be notified when online registration opens up later this February, please feel free to contact me by email. Greg Provenzano
