All year’s of Kokatat dry-suits and dry-tops as well as most other suits made since 1990 use the flat disc tool shown here. Some suits, mainly old ones use a conical tool – for such suits, an 11” diameter flowerpot may work best as a tool although many people have used traffic cones or partially deflated volley balls.
This item consists of the "base plate" and a pair of "split rings" only -- spring clamps are sold separately since some people already own clamps for woodworking etc. To use, cut the old gasket off even with the edge of the fabric (leaving about a 1" flange of the old gasket glued to the fabric, then tack the neck opening down to the double sided tape on the base plate, apply glue to the flange of old gasket, sandwich the new gasket between the base plate and the split rings and clamp it all together.
To complete this kit, you will need six 1" Steel Spring Clamps (as well as AquaSeal® Adhesive, clean 220grit sandpaper, isopropyl alcohol, and gaskets). Use the "Continue Shopping" button to find these clamps, and be sure to set the quantity of the clamps to six.
