NRS Co-Pilot Knife

NRS Co-Pilot Knife

$ 45.00 USD

Description

NRS Co-Pilot Knife is designed so you have to squeeze both sides of the sheath at once to release the knife. Note earlier version of this had plastic parts that didn't lock the knife into the sheath as securely as the current model. When stowing the knife you'll hear a click that tells you the knife is locked in place.

The sheath has a heavy duty "belt clip" that is designed to clip onto PFD accessory square patches or you could add your own strap to mount it anywhere. The sheath is made of tough plastic unlike some kayak knives with brittle sheaths that break when caught on things. The real genius of this knife's design is that in order to pull the knife out from the sheath you have to squeeze the handle inward from both sides at once. This squeeze is natural when gripping the knife, but it is virtually impossible for the knife to fall out accidentally. The design of the knife includes: a blunt tip (good for prying or using as a screwdriver in an emergency), a sharp straight edge on one side and a serrated edge on the other side plus a bottle opener built into the handle.

An excellent knife for freshwater boating and rescue. Although it's "stainless steel" this grade of steel will rust in saltwater use, so for sea kayaking choose the NRS Titanium Co-Pilot Knife.

If you want a full sized knife like this check out the "Pilot" knife.
