KA Tie Down Strap, heavy duty cam strap with webbing buckle pad and flattened end
K.A. Tie Down Straps are heavy duty - of course. Our tie down strap uses heavier webbing than most and a heavy duty cam buckle. They also include a webbing buckle pad to prevent scratches, and we have the end of the webbing flattened with an iron to make them the easiest straps there are to thread into their buckles. The length of each strap in feet is stamped into the side of the buckle so if you have a lot of straps you can tell at a glace what length you are picking up. Our webbing has "WWW.KAYAKACADEMY.COM woven into it so your friends will know where to find more of these great tie down straps.
Most straps are only sold in a few inconvenient lengths. We make our straps available in a wide range of sizes for all your tie down needs. Typically 10' is just right for tying a one-person sea kayak on a roof rack with kayak cradles or a thick foam block (where kayak is in the upright position). When tying a kayak on its side in a "J"-cradle, 8' straps are great provided you attach the strap to the top of the "J"-cradle. For 2 kayaks strapped back to back on "J"-cradles, 13' straps are usually right. For 3 kayaks strapped together on their sides 15' straps are needed, and if your rack can handle more than three kayaks, you can add 2' in strap length for each additional kayak after the first three.
Our KA straps are made of heavyweight polypro webbing rated at 800 lbs with buckles rated at 1000 lbs.
Price is per strap, and cost will adjust when you select the length.
